Corporate social responsibility is extremely important to Vision Commercial Kitchens as a business and the company recognise that we have a wider social responsibility. Therefore we were extremely proud to be presented with the award for Distributor of the Year: Corporate Social Responsibility for the third consecutive year at the 2021 Catering Insight Awards as well as Distributor of the Year: Nationwide for the second consecutive year! A big part of our corporate social responsibility efforts is our charity fundraising, and our team have made a tremendous effort throughout our years of fundraising. In honour of our latest award win, we're taking a look back at the fundraising that we have carried out in 2021 for a truly deserving charity - The Christie charity.

As group events weren't possible throughout the pandemic period, we instead launched our 'Vision Miles' challenge as a new fundraising initiative to continue our fundraising. The team decided to come together to remotely walk, run and cycle as many miles as possible. We have now covered an amazing total of over 7,000 miles! As part of his miles challenge, Vision's Finance & Operations Director, Jarrod Ashton took part in the Manchester to Blackpool ride in July, in memory of his brother who was treated at The Christie. Jarrod cycled a 60-mile route which started at Media City at Salford Quays and finished on Blackpool's South Promenade. Further to this Jarrod took part in a further ride in October; the London Revolution - a 2-day cycling weekend of an incredible 156.9 mile, 360° loop around London. With these events and our Vision miles challenge we are proud to have raised a combined total of £2,295 for The Christie and to have promoted the extremely valuable work that The Christie carries out.

We're looking forward to continuing our fundraising efforts in 2022, with a member of our team already signed up for a cycle challenge around Loch Ness.
